Churchill got it right for sure! Think back on some of your best customer service experiences. Now, think back on some of the worst. What was the common denominator?
You guessed it…ATTITUDE!
There are many, many ways to demonstrate a good attitude at work. According to Bob Rosner and Sherrie Campbell, some ideas include:

Showing appreciation to your coworkers…say thanks effusively, give praise when the opportunity presents itself, offer help when possible

Communicating with your coworkers effectively…always be enthusiastic and clear in expressing your requests and questions, make sure your directions or instructions are understood, repeat back what a coworker has said to make sure there are no misunderstandings

Recharging yourself…use positive, not negative energy, in the workplace, look for opportunities to have fun, tell a joke or funny story, don’t burn yourself out

Avoiding negative work attitudes…try to avoid sarcasm if possible, look for the good in people, be honest without being mean
Making yourself well-liked and respected by your coworkers and managers will only heighten your value to your employer. In addition, a good attitude often becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy…why not give it a try today?
